The Jelloware cups may be eco-conscious and delicious to boot, but the fact that I won't have to worry about breaking yet another glass is what has officially sold me on this idea. (Not to mention how much fun it would be to drink out of one of these squishy, jelly cups!)
Designed by The Way We See The World, the Jelloware cups were submitted at the second annual Jell-O Mold competition in Brooklyn, New York. Made entirely out of agar agar, a seaweed extract, they are available in different flavors, such as lemon-basil, ginger-mint or rosemary-beet.

Trend Themes
1. Edible Utensils - The trend of using edible materials to create utensils that are environmentally friendly and add a fun element to drinking could be applied to other types of tableware.
2. Sustainable Packaging - The concept of edible cups introduces a new way of thinking about packaging for food and beverage products, potentially leading to sustainable alternatives for plastic and paper packaging.
3. Seaweed Products - As seaweed is used as the main ingredient in the Jelloware cups, there is an opportunity for the seaweed industry to explore and develop other creative products in the food and beverage market.
Industry Implications
1. Food Service Industry - Edible cups can not only serve as a creative way to differentiate a company's brand, but also reduce their environmental footprint by eliminating the need for disposable cups and utensils.
2. Packaging Industry - The use of edible packaging materials can prove to be a game-changer within the packaging industry, particularly in reducing plastic and paper waste.
3. Seaweed Farming Industry - With the rising demand for sustainable, plant-based products, the seaweed farming industry can potentially expand their market by exploring and developing other products like edible cups and utensils.
