Jacques Cavallier Belletrud Develops LV's New Scented Candles

Master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud works in collaboration with French luxury house Louis Vuitton on a candle collection. The collection is comprised of four scented candles encased in ceramic pots designed by Marc Newson, who has previously worked with the label on designing its Les Parfum bottles. Every single candle has a handle attached to it and it is carefully crafted from natural leather materials and attached to a metal stud.
There is also a lid that boasts a gold metal finish, the piece also functions as a coaster as well. In terms of the scent, Belletrud wanted to encapsulate the natural smell of nature into something that also falls under the category of Louis Vuitton's essence. The concept in mind was a vision of buildings with windows open as a gentle breeze blows inside.
Every candle is meant to give off its own natural experience -- the L'Air du Jardin gives of rosebud spirits, the Feuilles d’Or gives off a sense of walking through a forest, Île Blanche evokes fresh cotton and warmth of the sun, and finally, Dehors II Neige recalls snowy nights by the Fireside.
