The Isabella Hunts photo series is an on-going project that was started back in 2009 by Isabella Rozendaal. A city girl based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, it never occurred to her that hunting was still practiced by different cultures around the world. As soon as she discovered this fact, she felt compelled to experience it. With camera in hand, the Isabella Hunts series was born.
From Louisiana to Germany, the young photographer has gotten around for the Isabella Hunts photo series. According to her website, future destinations include Scotland, France, South Africa, Central Europe and Scandinavia. Although hunting is completely foreign to her, she writes, "I was intrigued by this combination of a peaceful, meditative interaction with nature and the unforgiving confrontation with death. My goal is to witness with an open mind, and share my experiences."
