Interestingly, Mclanesmemories uses a very old technique to render a decidedly contemporary muse. Stained glass has been used since the middle ages. There are countless cathedrals that boast beautiful windows depicting epic and religious scenes. Back then, the materials and techniques involved in using stained glass were too expensive and complicated to dedicate to anything but the fantastic and other-worldly. Times have obviously changed since the days of castles and cathedrals. Materials are less expensive and techniques are more refined; this has allowed for a greater variety of themes and aesthetics in the medium.
Still, looking at Iron Man rendered in glass and emanating an incandescent glow, one can be forgiven if they mistake the modern superhero for a saint of old.
