SAGA Space Architects has unveiled a new Circadian Light Panel for assisting astronauts, which will soon debut on the International Space Station for the small Crew Quarters. The light panel was made to help astronauts with their sleep issues as the foreign environment of outer space while living in the confined area of the International Space Station consists of noises and offset circadian rhythm as it orbits around the Earth.
The space-grade designed light panel features a system that contains three light faces that emit light at different angles and spectrums. The reason is that it will assist in either promoting alertness or inducing sleepiness depending on what the astronaut requires, which can also be automatically adjusted to their sleep schedule. Additionally, the light panel emits dynamic wavelengths to simulate shifting weather and natural lighting change from sunrise to sunset on Earth.
