In an effort to encourage more millennials to attend Edmonton Eskimos games, the Commonwealth Stadium has created an interactive football app that works in conjunction with beacons installed throughout the stadium. With younger fans looking for a more interactive game day experience, the new Eskimos mobile app gives fans a whole new way to enjoy live football.

The new upgrades at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium were initiated as part of an effort to encourage millennial football fans to attend more than just one game. One of these high-tech upgrades is the installation of about 200 hotspots throughout the stadium, which use Beacon technology to keep fans connected to the team's interactive football app. When visitors pass by the hotspots, messages will automatically be sent from the Eskimo's mobile app, altering fans to exclusive game content, discounts and other promotions.

This kind of stadium technology is sure to be appreciated by younger fans who are more likely to use mobile apps to enhance the game day experience.
