If the Great Wall of Cooking comes out of the creative oven soon, preparing food will never be the same again. The fully interactive wall, which features everything from a touchscreen oven, a waterjet cleaning cutting machine and a dispenser for condiments and sauces, Ermi van Oers' design was a semifinalist in the 2013 Electrolux Design Lab.
The wall-mounted 2D kitchen is intended to provide more time and space to host guests and to make the food-making process quicker than ever before. With the entire wall programmable to execute specific tasks, such as an intelligent recipe adviser, or a specific pot designed to boil water as well as make soups, sauces and purees, the Great Wall of Cooking even comes with large neon countdown timers to ensure nothing is ever overcooked.
In line with van Oers' vision of making cooking simple and accessible, the kitchen will just be one touch away from rustling up the family favorite.
