The Imagine Institute by Ateliers Jean Nouvel and Valero Gadan Architectes is located on the hospital campus in the heart of Paris’s left bank.
The fragmented glass structure is a recently built extension to Necker Hospital, the oldest specialized pediatric clinic in the world that is dedicated to research and treatment of genetic diseases.
"Conforming to the regulations stipulated in the 19th century by Baron Hausmann, this structure mixes its existing shell with sharp crystalline edges and an all-glass facade that is a contemporary presence within its surrounding neighbourhood."
The Imagine Institute by Ateliers Jean Nouvel and Valero Gadan Architectes features two volumes that "meet in a shard-like spire, culminating in a rooftop terrace that provides sweeping views of the city."
