Swedish furniture giant IKEA has announced that it will be adding two new types of vegan chicken nuggets to its restaurant menus, which will differ in US and UK markets.
The company has updated its menu in the UK with plant-based chicken strips, which will be offered as part of its new Chickenless Strip Meal with fries and a drink. Meanwhile, in the US, IKEA will introduce plant-based chicken nuggets, which will be part of a new Kids Meal that includes a serving of broccoli. The new updates contribute to the brand's broader commitment to making its menu 50% vegan by 2025, an initiative aimed at supporting more sustainable consumption.
“IKEA wants to make healthy and sustainable choices the most desirable option, by, for example, demonstrating that plant-based food can be really delicious,” said Lena Pripp-Kovac, Chief Sustainability Officer at Inter IKEA Group.
