Iconic monsters like Godzilla and Kaijus from the movie Pacific Rim can be seen in Oliver Wetter's recent series of paintings. The German artist decided to repaint famous paintings by Hudson River artists, but he infused them with pop culture monsters, machines and robots.
Hudson River artists are known for their peaceful and serene landscape art, but those landscapes are now obstructed with monsters and are being terrorized. Godzilla can be seen wreaking havoc in the mountainous landscape of one painting, and Kaiju is depicted as disturbing the Bridal Falls of Yosemite Valley in another.
However, some monsters don't seem to be causing as much damage to the paintings. AT-AT looks peaceful among the Sierra Nevada scene that was originally painted by Albert Bierstadt. He looks as though he was meant to be there.
