Zaha Hadid is the designer of these beautifully serene ice cube seats. The collection of icy furniture is called Liquid Glacial. The entire collection is more than ice cubes seats; it also includes bowls, stools and tables that mimic the calmness of ice.
Each piece is elegantly smoothed at the edges to reflect melting ice. The avoidance of harsh corners and edges ads to the overall softness in appearance. Each seat swoops gently in the center to support whoever is sitting in it. When light shines onto the icy furniture pieces it creates a shadow of ripples and droplets like light shining through a glass of condensation.
These artistic pieces of furniture are on display at the David Gill Gallery in London, England.
