Alexander Lotersztain Creates Shapes with Soothing Colors & Lines
Kalin Ned — April 27, 2022 — Art & Design
A mochi-inspired seating collection launched in mid-April. Designed for Australian furniture brand Derlot by Alexander Lotersztain, the capsule boasts playful modular seating furniture that can be combined to fit in different spaces and suit different purposes. For those unfamiliar with the dessert, mochi is a soft Japanese rice cake. Much like its inspiration, the mochi-inspired seating furniture boasts rounded edges that can "blend well into any setting, including residential and commercial spaces."
Alexander Lotersztain intentionally envisioned this design-forward furniture project as a modular collection in order to "encourage interaction and conversation" among individuals who use it. The pieces come in varying lengths, some longer and others shorter. The color scheme of the mochi-inspired seating collection also fits well with the silhouettes and contributes to the aesthetic versatility of Derlot's contemporary furniture offerings.
