Designer Sonakshi Gupta designed the Euclid Chair concept, which is inspired by minimal geometric shapes and is named after the ancient Greek mathematician. It is influenced by the shape of the cube with its clean lines and nods to Escher's iconic optical illusion, the impossible cube.
The concept has 12 lines which are all connected at eight corners to create the six faces. The chair has a dynamic shape overall to allow the eyes to follow the structure of the furniture, observing where the front and back sides lie. The construction is made from reclaimed wood to give it a sustainable approach. The corners are joined with a mortise and tenon joinery without having to rely on screws or glue.
