New York City-based photographer Hyuna Shin's recent series 'In Gilded Captivity' is an exploration of the stranger and darker side of fashion and fashion photography.
Each frame depicts models wearing eccentric clothing that ranges from something one might actually see someone wear in a hip part of town to outfits that are usually relegated to sci-fi films.
The lead image of the series shows a model wearing an outfit made from black metal bars that wrap their way around her body to form a sort of cage. In another frame, the model peaks out at the viewer from behind a metal-studded leather mask.
