The Hycopter Quadcopter Can Fly For Hours At a Time
Rahul Kalvapalle — May 29, 2015 — Tech
Most drones you hear about entering the market tend to only be able to fly for 20 or 25 minutes at a time, but the Hycopter isn't just another drone. It's a long-flying endurance drone that is powered by fuel cell technology, allowing it to flow for four hours at a time.
The Hycopter stores 120 grams of hydrogen gas in its existing structural tubing, meaning no separate gas canister is required. The amount of hydrogen held in the tubing is estimated to provide about as much energy as 3 kg of lithium batteries.
This quadcopter isn't fully ready to hit the market yet and is still in prototype stage. However with its distance-flight capabilities, this is one drone that is sure to stand out in the skies.
