HTC's Standalone VR Headset Can Now Be Preordered on Amazon
HTC’s ‘HTC Vive XR Elite’ is an all-in-one virtual reality headset that is compact, high-resolution, and offers a 110-degree field of view. The headset is meant to serve as competition for the ‘Meta Quest 2’ VR headset and features a Snapdragon XR 2 chipset with 12GB RAM and 120GB ROM for local storage. The battery lasts for two hours and only takes one to recharge. Consumers can also remove the battery pack and attach it to a phone or PC with USB-C, and the device can fold like a pair of sunglasses for easy carrying.
HTC anticipates over 100 games will be available in addition to Vive Connect, a browser-based home space for virtual features. HTC’s ‘HTC Vive XR Elite’ will debut in February for a retail price of $1,099 USD.
