Meta unveiled the 'Meta Quest Pro' virtual reality headset as the successor to the 'Meta Quest 2.' While the Quest 2 is marketed primarily toward virtual reality gamers and is priced at $399, the Quest Pro is marketed toward creative professionals and other workplaces that could benefit from VR and XR experiences. As a result, Meta priced the Quest Pro at USD 1,599.99 in the United States, or CAD 2,399.99 in Canada.
At this price tag, customers receive premium performance and one of the most comfortable headsets to date. Meta states that the Quest Pro leverages 'Pancake Lens' technology that results in a 40% thinner optical stack over the Quest 2. Additionally, the resolution, refresh rate, and lens projected screen size is equal to the Quest 2. However, the Quest Pro will benefit from enhanced color depth, a stronger processing system, and a longer battery life.
The Meta Quest Pro is available for preorder now from Meta, as well as third-party retailers such as Amazon.
