South Korean firm Studio GAON designed the 'House in Sang-an,' a contemporary home located in Hoengseong County.
The clients were a young couple who wanted their place of residence to reflect their easygoing, outdoorsy lifestyle. Responding to their needs, the Seoul-based studio outfitted the home with a meditation garden, home cinema and a kitchen that offers gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains.
The house is arranged to feel almost like a campground, in which the occupants are free to ride their bikes or take a nap in a hammock, but are also equally as able to pop into the kitchen for a bite to eat, or meander into the lounge-turned-cinema to enjoy a film. Overall, the house is optimized to ensure the "pleasure or delight" of anyone living in it.
