Oslo Works designed the Hotspot sauna, which is a compact wooden sauna that is perched over the rocky shores of the Nesodden peninsula in Norway. It is elevated over the water and detailed with wooden shingles which create a rustic aesthetic. The Hotspot sauna is made for the local community and can be accessed through a short ferry ride from Oslo.
It is easy to maintain and boasts an eco-friendly construction. The studio notes, “A sauna is best enjoyed together. This may be the reason why sauna community culture has been rising in Scandinavia over the last few years. People are putting their forces together in order to finance, build, and share hothouse all along the shore.”
