The futuristic shape of the Holonic Streetlamp coincides nicely with its forward-thinking design concept that utilizes both the sun and the wind to illuminate the streets.
The large lighting solution has been designed to soak up the sun's rays during the day to power it when the moon rolls in at night. While this is an eco-friendly solution to keeping the roads lit up for driver's in itself, the designer, María Jesús Ávilais, also incorporated a wind turbine to act as an additional power source. This ensures that even on dreary, cloudy days the light will charge enough to operate at night.
These lights are also equipped with the ability to plug into the traditional power grid if they do not have enough of a charge stored up to operate independently.
