The 'Superbloom' streetlight has been designed by Project Room as an entry for the LA Lights the Way design competition held by the city to help update the street level infrastructure. The modular design of the streetlight is intended to provide illumination as well as places to sit, solar panels to capturing passive eco energy, electric vehicle charging and more. The multifunctional design of the lamp posts liken them to a bouquet of flowers that could be positioned through the city to get it ready for the 2028 Summer Olympics that are slated to be held in Los Angeles.
The 'Superbloom' streetlight is conceptual at the moment, but has been awarded $70,000 to be prototyped and tested before widespread integration.
