WEEKDAY's Hemp Jeans Couture Capsule Elevates Hemp Fibers
Weekday works in collaboration with Agraloop, a tech startup that transforms food crop waste into fiber materials -- this results in the new Hemp Jeans Couture collection. Using waste gathered from oil-seed hemp production to create fibers that has social and environmentally impacts.
The hemp organic cotton blend exists in the brand's roster in white and ecru with plans to create indigo styles. The inspiration stems from "the modern tree-hugger" and imagines a conscious consumer that has an edgy aesthetic. This results in exaggerated shapes with dramatic cuts that can be seen in silhouettes such as the Mabel Jacket with detached sleeves. Other notable pieces in the capsule include the Plant Based denim and the Woody skirt.
