Nutrition and healthy eating programs are often exclusive to those with means, however, 'Happy Family, Healthy Kids' is an initiative that seeks to change that. The activation is located in Michigan and it will target young children from low-income families and underserved communities.
The healthy eating program will welcome a total of 160 volunteer families. During the 14 weeks, 'Happy Family, Healthy Kids' will address the pitfalls of "emotional eating" as caused by stress in life or lack of funds, as well as teach parents "on making happy and healthy eating behavioral changes at home" through open discussions, face-to-face meetings, cooking classes and seminars. The healthy eating program will also boast the 'Eat my ABCs' activation which will deliver "age-appropriate, healthy eating education" to kids.
The first tear of the initiative is said to start in 2020.
