A person would be hard pressed to picture a rough and tough player in one of these haute couture football helmets. Of course, although made for the game, they were not made to be worn in the game. A fine distinction if there ever was one. Each one was designed by a CDFA member in order to raise funds for the NFL Foundation.
With an impressive roster of Dianne von Furstenberg, DKNY, Marchesa, Nicole Miller and more, the haute couture football helmets are clearly quite eye-catching. While some a little more subdued with simple bold sayings and patterns, others are much more elaborate with floral and skyscraper embellishments. They will be auctioned off on January 15, starting at $248 each, which is a nod to Superbowl XLVIII.
