Heinz Netherlands Introduces its Unique New Hagelchup Specks
The team at Heinz has created the Hagelchup, which is a new way to enjoy the condiment. It is a sprinkled recipe that is reflective of the traditional Hagelslag chocolate sprinkles from the Netherlands. It is a Dutch dish enjoyed on buttered bread and this influenced the birth of Hagelchup. It fuses the two forms together to honor Heinz's heritage and Dutch culture simultaneously. It is packaged in the iconic Heinz bottle but produced at the De Ruijiter factory, which is a notable producer of chocolate sprinkles in the country.
It is meant to inspire consumers in how they use ketchup and encourage them to use it on more than just fries. Belén LLamazares Carballo, marketing director at Kraft Heinz shares, “We know Dutch consumers do quite irrational things when it comes to their hagelslag. They put it on everything, from white bread to yogurt, mixed with peanut butter on bread or they eat it straight from the pack. Because this Dutch delicacy captivates everyone from the first crunchy bite.”
