The Haas Brothers’ 2013 Furniture Collection has a prehistoric feel to it for a reason. It was inspired by the wooly mammoth. Well, some of the pieces are. In general, the designs take on a different ancient animalistic aesthetic, whether it is mammalian or reptilian. Yet that doesn't mean there is a dated feel to them. Instead, the line is exotic and timeless in spite of their singular appeal.
Whether it is shiny brass and hexagonal shapes or sheepskin seating and carved horns, the Haas Brothers’ 2013 Furniture Collection is sophisticated and rich. Recently represented at Design Miami/Basel, the various textures, materials and forms lent themselves to an unsettling but intriguing experience. The brothers even paid tribute to their father's stone-carving skills with a few pottery items.
