The 'GRIP' rim cover is an accessory for those who utilize wheelchairs to get around that would help them to stave off the long-term effects that can occur on their hands with daily use. The cover is intended to be slipped over the metallic rail handle that is positioned adjacent to the wheel tire itself and provides a far more comfortable method for the user to propel themselves forward. The cover can be used without gloves, prevents the fingers from becoming stuck in the spokes and could help to prevent premature deportation of the hands.
The 'GRIP' rim cover is the design work of Lorcan Looney, Bryce Cormack and Leah Deegan, and has been created as an open-source design that can be downloaded from the designers for DIY creation.
