Tia Lupita Foods is expanding its range of grain-free tortillas with new upcycled tortillas that feature okara flour from Renewal Mill. The high-fiber organic okara flour comes from a by-product of soy milk processing, and this ingredient is blended with others like chia seeds, avocado oil, cassava flour, lime juice, tapioca fiber and nopales. As Hector Saldivar, CEO of Tia Lupita Foods, describes: "This generation of eaters is demanding better: better nutrition, better transparency and better accountability from the brands they buy." The free-from tortillas are ideal for environmentally minded, ingredient-conscious consumers who are looking for products that match their values.
Each of the recycled tortillas is vegan, gluten-free, Non-GMO Project verified and contains 45 calories, two grams of fiber and six grams of net carbs per serving.
