Google Assistant has recently been updated to allow users to transfer cash with voice commands through Google Pay P2P services. The feature allows users to say something like “Send Lauren $2,” and the Google Assistant will take the user through the steps to send money via Google Pay. The feature will be completely free and Google has expressed the simplicity of this system. While the feature is currently only available on mobile phones, Google hopes to eventually roll the same feature out to voice-activated speakers like Google Home.
In order to use voice assisted Google Pay P2P services, users will need to set up a Google Pay account. Funds transferred almost instantaneously and recipients will be notified via email or text message, if they have Google Pay installed they will receive a notification through the app. Recipients will need to set up a Google Pay account to cash out the funds.
