'Mobil 1,' the world's leading synthetic motor oil company, announced the 'Gen. G Mobil 1 Racing' project in collaboration with 'Gen. G,' the global esports organization. Through this project, the two companies will be launching two professional esports teams for the game 'Rocket League.' The two teams will be split between one men's team and one women's team. To date, this is the largest commitment to esports from a dedicated motor oil company.
These teams will compete in Rocket League pro tournaments, such as Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) and the Women's Carball Championship (WCBC). Both Gen. G and Mobil 1 stated that each team will receive equal promotion and opportunities as the companies share a commitment and dedication to gender equality.
The CEO of Gen. G, Arnold Hur, stated: “We are very lucky to have a chance to work with Mobil 1, who genuinely understands the scene and shares a long-term vision with us to build a team from the ground up.”
