This Friendly Cab Driver's Life Story Sounds Like the Plot of Othello
Laura McQuarrie — July 8, 2014 — Art & Design
Sometimes you just get stuck with a really friendly cab driver who wants to tell you his or her life story, but the tales are usually not as dramatic as the one spun by the driver in this Belgrade taxi.
As part of a promotion for the performances at the Yugoslav Drama Theater, professional actors were sent out to drive cabs around the city and make the stories of Shakespeare and Dostoyevsky seem like their own lives. Whether they wanted to or not, the cab passengers became engaged in the story and before they reached their destinations, they were told that they could hear a more eloquent telling of the tale at the Yugoslav Drama Theater. As a reward for hearing out the monologues, taxi passengers were given free tickets to the show.
