New York Fries is moving away from traditional fountain drink cups that need a plastic lid in favor of 100% biodegradable and compostable cups. The plastic-free and bioplastic-free paper cup sports a design that folds to form a spill-proof, built-in lid that also eliminates the need to use a straw.
After a 10-month test in British Columbia and Southwestern Ontario markets, and a hugely positive response, New York Fries is introducing the environmentally friendly NYF cups to all Canadian stores as of May 2024.
This packaging shift was made possible in partnership with SOFi Products. The switch to compostable and biodegradable cups makes New York Fries the first national brand in North America to offer an eco-friendly, durable cold cup.
