American automaker Ford has unveiled a new Global Ford Ranger model, re-designing the popular mid-sized pick-up and upgrading its tech specs.
The new Ranger model comes with an updated version of the Ranger's T6 body-on-frame platform, this time delivering a large footprint with greater track width and a stretched wheelbase. In addition, to improve ride comfort, the vehicle's suspension dampers were moved outboard of the frame rails.
Aside from structural changes, the model also boasts various new hybrid technology features built around Ford's SYNC 4 infotainment system. These include a center stack with a portrait-style touchscreen (10.1 or 12 inches), a surround-view camera, driver assistance technology, and more. The new Ranger model will be applied to Single, Super Cab, and Crew Cab bodies, all expected to launch in 2022.
