The Flushd App Locates Bathrooms Because When You Gotta Go, You Gotta Go
Rahul Kalvapalle — March 13, 2014 — Tech
The Flushd app is an iPhone app that can be your savior if you find yourself in an unfamiliar public place and need to find a bathroom. Designed by Ahhh Media, Flushd displays a selection of public bathrooms near your location, using data from the Foursquare app to identify the bathrooms. Once you're saddled up in a stall, the app displays personalized content for your reading pleasure.
While the Flushd app is not the first mobile bathroom-locating service, it has some unique features. Eco-minded users can search specifically for water-free urinals, while moms can look for a bathroom with a changing table. Users can even add their own toilets to the database if they're open and willing to help out a stranger in need. Users can also rate and review bathrooms and help others avoid poorly maintained or generally nasty bathrooms.
James Edwards, who calls himself the Chief Excrement Officer of Ahhh Media, says the goal was "to offer an easy button for relief."
