Gilded Goat, the Fort Collins-based brewery that is known for its creative and ingenious brews, recently launched a delectable festbier that is well and truly inspired by Oktoberfest and takes its cue from the marzen style of beers.
This particular festbier makes use of Hallertau hop varieties and a trio of malts of the rye, Munich and Vienna varieties. The end result is a beer that offers an early character of malt, although this deftly transitions into a crisp and dry texture, making for a beer that is eminently palatable and boasts an added touch of visual satisfaction from its deep, almost glowing orange-copper hue that sits in stark contrast to the creamy white head.
Coming in at 6.3 percent and an unobtrusive 20 IBUs, this festbier is suggested to be paired with bold cheeses and wienerschnitzel.
