Using materials that are responsibly sourced can be quite expensive, but that is what makes the fallen tree furniture designed by Jeff Martin of Jeff Martin Joinery so special. He not only uses solid, domestic wood harvested from fallen and sick trees, he picks out the ones with flaws, which happens to be more economical for him. Yet that isn't to say his designs are not up to par.
Beautifully crafted, the fallen tree furniture end up sporting uncommon details such as patches of wood and metal to fill in spaces or to highlight a particular flaw. Built to last, the Vancouver-based furniture designer was inspired to expand from building wooden surfboards after designing objects for his house.
