Photographer Mark Leaver's face tattoo photography series called 'Tattoos' was shot in attempt to erase the stigmas heavily associated with tattooed people. Leaver captured intimate and and close-up portraits to allow people to see the souls of his subjects.
The subjects, which are 30 people from the UK, have an overpowering amount of tattoos all over their bodies and faces, but their depictions in the photographs showcase more than that; they are shown as strong, beautiful and normal people of society.
Both personal and candid, the photographs show the subjects in moments of solidarity and they look heavily in thought. Leaver claims that while some stigmas may be true, all 30 of his subjects are the "most down to earth individuals you’ll ever meet."
