El Departamento Orchestrates an All-Green Eyewear Store Aesthetic

Spanish interior design studio El Departamento recently completed a stunning and all-green contemporary eyewear store aesthetic for PJ Lobster. Located in Barcelona's El Born district, the retail destination boasts a distinct and innovative approach that involved textured material use and the nuances of green. The latter is a noteworthy design decision as the human eye has a unique capacity to distinguish various shades of green. El Departamento selected the color green for other reasons, as well—evoking the prehistoric hunting instinct and the association with Charles and Ray Eames's seminal film 'Powers of Ten.' The space is further complicated by the inclusion of stainless steel display shelving which adds a strong accent to the space. The resulting eyewear store aesthetic, characterized by soft seafoam green tones, invites customers into an intriguing visual exercise.
