EXPRESSIONS of CHARACTER was an exhibition that ran during this year's 3daysofdesign. Located in Charlottenborg, the event showcased some of the most ground-breaking work from "visionary design pioneers such as Poul Kjærholm and Arne Jacobsen," and other contemporary designers like Cecilie Manz, Jaime Hayon, Sebastian Herkner, Vico Magistretti, and KiBiSi.
Marie-Louise Høstbo, the Creative Design Director at Fritz Hansen, proudly shares her perspective on the ethos of Danish furniture design: "In Danish we call furniture design; MØBELKUNST (literally “furniture art”) and the inherent connectedness to art through the Academy is unquestionable."
Throughout the EXPRESSIONS of CHARACTER exhibition, one could survey the aesthetic and craftsmanship of many iconic furniture designs. Some items were presented in their natural habitat while others were creatively positioned mid-air, held by ropes, and slightly tilted.
