The 'Endless City in Height' Concept Building Spirals Into the Sky
Rahul Kalvapalle — August 8, 2014 — Eco
The 'Endless City in Height' is an architectural concept, put together by Sure Architecture, that spirals upwards instead of stacking levels on top of each other as is traditionally the case.
The concept aims to show that buildings don't necessarily have to use traditional floors or levels. The design replaces breaks between floors with a pair of intertwined low-gradient ramps. This way, the building becomes an extension of the street and sidewalk below.
The ramps could be of inconsistent sizes, allowing for the creation of different environments and spaces within the building. Each building could become a complex ecosystem feature commercial streets, technology spaces, parks, outdoor areas and intimate quiet spaces.
The Endless City in Height concept building was designed with London in mind; however there's no telling if the building will ever come to reality.
