This elevated beach house is both beautiful and was designed in a way that reduces its impact on the environment.
Vacation homes are a luxury for most people but the process of building them does not have to include wasting resources. Lisa Shell Architects knew this when approaching the design of this elevated beach house and as a result, made it with reclaimed materials. The structure of the home is made with reclaimed wood while 180mm thick cork covers the outside. The cork is made from the "by-products of wine cork production in Portugal" -- a material that was ready to be thrown out had it not been reclaimed by the architects that designed this house.
This beach house incorporates a functional design with environmentally friendly elements that contribute to a comfortable and unique vacation home.
