El Super Bee Saison is a seasonal offering from Dallas-based Four Corners Brewing Co.
This 'freestyle saison' uses locally sourced Texas grapefruit from local favorite, 'Laura's Grapefruit.' Four Corners also used local honey, Belgian yeast, rye malt and a dry hopping process. Fans of Four Corners eagerly awaited the release of this grapefruit saison as the brewers only release the beer during grapefruit season to promote sustainable production processes. To prepare the grapefruit for brewing, brewmaster Zach Petty removes most of the zest from the peel to get as much juice and pulp from the fruit as possible. He says this is a time consuming process, but not a difficult one.
The El Super Bee Saison will be a part of Four Corners 'Queen Bee' series, which will feature various fruits grown in Texas.
