Mimetics Digital Education is poised to develop an educational robot that is designed to be easy for educators and students to use in the hopes of advancing science education in schools.
The educational robot being developed is based on prototypes created over the past few years. However, they assert that all current educational robots are too complicated for most teachers and youth groups to program and use as educational tools.
The New Jade robot is created with teachers and students in mind. It is easy to assemble and user friendly, while still offering incredibly advanced capabilities including on robot program interface, TV remote controls and rechargeable batters.
This project is currently on Kickstarter.com seeking more funding. While the goal is $75,000, they've currently raised just under $4,000.
