The Edgeland Residence might not look like it is partially sunk into the ground, but it is. Inspired by the Native American Pit House concept, it was built to take advantage of the earth’s thermal changes and shelter to offer regulated temperatures. Nevertheless, the Edgeland Residence modernizes the concept by working in conjunction with high performance systems such as the integrated hydronic HVAC system.
Designed by Bercy Chen Studio, the Edgeland Residence also boasts a green roof for maximum energy efficiency and a smart pool that ties into the overall geothermal system. Aside from its obvious hi-tech and eco-friendly functions, the Edgeland Residence has a grand aesthetic that is perpetrated by bold geometric lines and floor-to-ceiling windows that lets in lots of natural light.
