Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting just announced plans to produce China's first eco-friendly car. Following in the footsteps of Elon Musk, Yueting wants to build electric vehicles for the world's largest and fastest growing auto market.
The company released initial sketches of the vehicle and confirmed that it will be called 'Le Supercar.' The futuristic car appears to resemble an elongated hatchback, giving it the appearance of a sporty family vehicle. Although the concept sketches are just drawings, the company has confirmed that the technology is already in place to produce the eco-friendly car. The new vehicle will feature minimal mechanical components and an advanced operating system that will serve as the car's main interface.
The futuristic supercar is set to debut at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show and could prove to be China's answer to Tesla.
