Earth Images at Grand Central NYC
References: earthdayny.org
April 22 is Earth Day, but New Yorkers are limiting their thanks for the earth to one single day. The green celebration has turned into one that's being called Earth Weekend as it extends from April 14 to 22, and includes events around the city.
At Grand Central station, Giant Earth Images are being projected on the walls of the famous train terminal, the images constantly moving and changing to grasp the attention of Main Concourse passersby. The images, as well as the sounds of nature that are projected throughout the terminal, are meant to raise awareness and evoke awe for the beauty of our Earth.
The show includes paintings, photographs, quotes and other moving messages, from new artists to well known names like Andy Warhol, Rafal Olbinski, Keith Haring and Ronald Feldman.
