If you're looking for a more old-timey take on the classic shake, you may want to head to Whataburger to try the new Dr. Pepper Malt drink.
While malted shakes and milkshakes are often seen as interchangeable, there are some small differences between the two. The biggest difference is that malted shakes are made with malted milk powder, which produces a toasty, buttery flavor and thick texture. To create its new Dr. Pepper Malt drink, Whataburger combines malted milk powder with Dr. Pepper soda to create a milkshake that "has that classic Dr. Pepper flavor with a small-town diner feel."
If Dr. Pepper isn't your drink of choice, the chain has also brought a few fan favorites, including the Salted Caramel Shake and the Root Beer Shake.
