Curioos' App Simulates How a Piece of Art Will Look Hanging in Your Home
Laura McQuarrie — February 6, 2015 — Art & Design
When it comes to buying decor for the home online or in-store, it can be difficult to gauge how something will look in a room, especially when it comes to color and scale—but an app from Curioos helps to take care of these problems once and for all.
Curioos' site is a place to shop for a range of art pieces for the home, including works from up-and-coming artists, as well as funny posters and the classics. In order to help its customers get a better sense of how "at home" a new piece of art will be, the Curioos app was created. After picking out a painting, the app has you print out a paper tracker that will serve as a placeholder. Then, with a mobile device in hand, users are able to look through the app and augmented reality makes the art appear before their eyes, as if it was really on the wall.
