The Cubs by Oleg Duryagin Series is Eerily Transformative
Meghan Young — July 27, 2011 — Art & Design
Just like this Moscow-based artist's previous artistic endeavors, the Cubs by Oleg Duryagin series is quite eerie and ethereal. Similar to his Toystory series, this most recent one centers around children. This time, however, he introduces an even more fantastical theme by creating human and animal hybrids, such as girls with stag horns or boys with sheep fur.
Of course, the Cubs by Oleg Duryagin series does still share some signature similarities with the previous collection, such as those liquid, lifeless eyes and portrait poses. Despite a frozen, deathlike feeling in each artwork, the Cubs by Oleg Duryagin series is incredibly lifelike. In fact, they look more like manipulated photographs than actual digital art. Of course, that is simply a testament to how talented and skilled Oleg Duryagin really is. Can't wait to see what he does next!
