Chicago-based artist Louis de Guzman has teamed up with the Chicago Cubs to create a new apparel capsule and corresponding sculpture, which has been installed inside the Wrigley Field shop.
The new sculpture has been named 'COHERE,' and it's a five-foot-tall, 700-pound bronze sculpture of the iconic Cubs bear logo. However, the logo has been reimagined by Guzman through his signature aesthetic. In addition, Guzman has released a collection of 150 hand-painted resin sculptures, all of which replicate the design of the COHERE statue but in miniature. What's more, Guzman teamed up with Mitchell and Ness to release a matching COHERE t-shirt and hoodie capsule.
According to Guzman, the project was "intimate and surreal" and an experience that was amazing to share "with friends and family at the historic stadium.”
